Fabio sparks new Led row

FABIO CAPELLO is heading for another bust-up with Spurs after picking Ledley King for his provisional England squad to face Slovenia and Croatia.

The Three Lions chief caused an explosive row with the Londoners in March when he called up the injury-ravaged defender.

King, 28, hardly trains with Spurs and can play only one game a week because of chronic knee problems that affect his mobility.

But Capello has refused to be put off selecting King, who he watched play against West Ham on Sunday.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp described his selection in March for the games with Slovakia and Ukraine as ridiculous and mad, claiming it would be disrespectful to Spurs if he played.

Capello eventually backed down and let King leave England's training camp - but only after a furious row between the FA and Spurs.

Although well aware of King's severe knee problem, Capello does not regard his England career as over and he remains in his thoughts for the 2010 World Cup.

King did not play in the 5-1 Carling Cup win over Doncaster but is expected to return for his usual 'one game a week' routine against Birmingham tomorrow.

And Redknapp insists it is not his fault Peter Crouch has dropped out of the Three Lions reckoning.

Crouch has failed to make the last two squads and is behind Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane in the Spurs pecking order.

Redknapp said: "I'd always have a Crouchie in my squad because he gives you something completely different to anybody else."
